Here’s the sort of thing that you might learn while you play: The name Wright refers a person whose job is making things and the first people to be called Wright were makers. When surnames were first introduced, it would have been normal for a cheese maker to get the surname “Cheesewright” while cart makers became the Cartwrights and people who wrote plays became Playwrights.

Confusingly though, the name Wright originally had nothing to do with writing. When surname were first introduced, the people who could write were typically clerks this gave us the surname Clark. Anyway, that’s another story, let’s get back to those Happy Wright Families:
